Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take the next step in your special education career by supporting a neuro-diverse student community in a high school setting. This contract position is for a Special Education Teacher to work in a self-contained classroom, providing a focused and inclusive learning environment. Working hours are 7:35 AM - 2:30 PM, offering a consistent daytime schedule.
Qualifications:
Certified as a Special Education Teacher Previous experience with high school students preferred Deep understanding of neuro-diversity and individualized instructional strategies Excellent communication and collaboration skills with staff, students, and families Ability to implement and modify IEPs to meet diverse student needs Strong classroom management skills
Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and small-group instruction in a self-contained classroom environment Develop and adapt curriculum to support a range of learning abilities and styles Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff to ensure student success Track and document student progress, adjusting instructional plans as needed Foster an inclusive, respectful, and empowering atmosphere for neuro-diverse learners Communicate regularly with families regarding student achievements, needs, and IEP goals Uphold best practices in special education and maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations This opportunity lets you make a real impact, providing critical support to students who benefit from thoughtful, specialized instruction.
