Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting high school students as a Special Education Teacher for the upcoming 26/27 school year. This contract position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference by guiding a diverse group of learners. You'll work in a collaborative and positive educational environment with an experienced team dedicated to student growth and success. The schedule runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, totaling 32.5 hours per week during the academic year. Your primary focus will be a caseload of approximately ten high school students in grades 9-12. Caseloads may be adjusted as the school year progresses to best fit student needs and program goals.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Bachelor's degree (required); Special Education certification preferred Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education or eligibility in Massachusetts Experience supporting high school students with diverse learning needs Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills Ability to adapt instruction to suit individual education plans (IEPs) Collaborative approach and commitment to inclusive education
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized instruction and IEPs for your caseload Track student progress and maintain accurate and thorough documentation Communicate regularly with parents, caregivers, and fellow educators to foster student success Participate in team meetings, professional development, and ongoing training Foster a safe, engaging, and productive classroom environment for all students Be part of a school community driven by helping every student reach their fullest potential.
