Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Experience the rewarding impact of teaching in a vibrant educational environment serving both elementary and middle school students. This contract role is perfect for a dedicated Special Education Teacher who values small group instruction and collaborative support. You'll guide students in two dynamic classrooms: Elementary setting: Work with a close-knit group of 6 students. These learners do not have significant behavioral needs but do require some toileting assistance. You'll benefit from the help of a Teaching Assistant and a Behavior Technician, fostering an atmosphere where every child can thrive.

Middle school setting:

Support and inspire a class of 11 students, most of whom only require mild assistance. One student has a feeding tube (with relevant medical support, so no prior feeding experience is needed), and several students require some toileting assistance. The classroom team includes 3 dedicated Teaching Assistants, a fellow Teacher, and individual support for the student with medical needs.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

License or eligibility for Special Education teaching in the state (current or able to obtain) Demonstrated experience working with students requiring toileting supports Compassionate approach to individualized learning and care Team-oriented mindset, ready to collaborate with classroom support staff Organizational skills to manage lesson planning and documentation
