Qualifications & Experience Hold valid South Carolina certification in Special Education (SPED) Demonstrated experience teaching students with mild intellectual disabilities, preferably at the elementary level Knowledge of adapting grade-level curriculum to diverse learning needs Skilled in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Effective communication skills with families, colleagues, and support staff Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment What Youll Do Deliver specialized instructional support to elementary students within a core replacement classroom Adapt and modify curriculum based on IEPs, ensuring each childs unique learning needs are met Provide targeted lessons in core academic content areas Track student progress and maintain detailed, accurate documentation Implement classroom accommodations, modifications, and instructional strategies as outlined in IEPs Work collaboratively with general education teachers, school personnel, and related service providers Actively participate in IEP meetings and assist in goal development Maintain open, positive communication with families and school stakeholders Support an inclusive learning space where every student can feel valued and successful Take this opportunity to shape young learners futures in a supportive elementary school environment.
