Job Description

ChanceLight Behavioral Health, Therapy & Education is seeking a Paraprofessional to support children and young adults with behavioral and learning challenges in specialized and alternative education settings. In this role, you will provide direct student support, implement behavior and instructional plans, and collect data to guide evidence-based interventions. Working closely with teachers, behavior analysts, and therapists, you'll help students build academic, social, and life skills. Responsibilities Provide direct support to students with behavioral, developmental, and learning needs in classroom and small-group settings. Implement behavior intervention and treatment plans designed by clinicians and special educators. Collect accurate behavior and skill acquisition data during sessions and classroom activities. Support de-escalation, safety, and positive behavior strategies using approved protocols. Assist with instructional activities, transitions, and daily living or social skills as needed. Document session notes and student progress in compliance with organizational and school requirements. Collaborate with teachers, behavior analysts, therapists, and families to support student goals. Maintain professional, ethical, and culturally responsive interactions with students and families. Required Skills Applied behavior analysis (ABA) support Behavior data collection and tracking Implementing behavior intervention plans Classroom and small-group support De-escalation and crisis prevention Special education support Progress note and documentation skills Collaboration with therapists and teachers Basic ASD and developmental disabilities knowledge Client and family communication
