Position Summary As a Designer/Drafter at Anderson Specialty Industries (ASI), you will create production and shop drawings for architectural acoustic products and systems, working primarily in Rhino 3D. You will document customer projects and support new products moving from concept to production, translating architectural drawings, field conditions, and design concepts into buildable, manufacturable documentation. • Develop shop and production drawings for customer projects, working from architectural documents, field conditions, and sales input
• Produce the technical details, schedules, and installation documentation that accompany those drawings
• Model parts and assemblies in Rhino for fabrication, CAM output, and product visualization.
• Build and maintain standardized CAD libraries, blocks, and templates, and help extend the automation and CAD/CAM workflows that feed production
• Contribute to new product development from early concept designs through production-ready documentation, including drawing, prototyping, and design iteration alongside the engineering and product teams
• Work with sales, project management, and production to keep drawings accurate and buildable
• Support technical product marketing assets such as data sheets, installation instructions, and renderings Required Qualifications
• Associate or bachelor's degree in industrial design, drafting, architecture, engineering, or a related field
• 2+ years of professional experience producing drawings for fabrication or construction
• Proficiency in 3D modeling for manufacturing. Rhino 3D preferred; experience with Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar is welcome. You should be comfortable working from a 3D model as the source of truth rather than drafting in 2D and modeling separately
• Ability to produce complete, dimensioned drawing sets: shop drawings, details, schedules, and installation documentation
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and mechanical plans, specifications, and submittals
• Ability to communicate design intent through 3D models, small scale prototypes, or sketches
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage several active projects against deadlines
• Proficiency with Excel, Teams, and Outlook, including comfort using Excel for schedules, part data, and takeoffs Desired Qualifications
• Grasshopper, or other parametric and generative design tools
• CAD automation: scripting, dynamic blocks, data-driven drawing generation
• CAM experience: RhinoCAM, Fusion, VCarve, or similar, plus CNC operation, nesting, and manufacturing processes
• Hands-on shop experience: woodworking, metal fabrication, model making, or prototyping
• Experience in an adjacent Rhino-driven field such as architectural millwork, curtain wall and façade, exhibit or scenic fabrication, furniture, signage, or marine design
• Rendering and visualization tools (KeyShot, V-Ray, Enscape) and Adobe Creative Suite
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Bluebeam submittal workflows
• Experience in a manufacturing or production environment
• Knowledge of architectural acoustic principles and materials (training provided) Compensation and Benefits

• Role offers flexible hybrid; in office and remote working conditions (Twin Cities, MN area)
• Monday through Friday between 8am - 4:30pm
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally
• Periodic weekend or evening work may be required
• Limited travel as needed for client projects
