Property Accountant Compensation:
$75,000–$85,000
Location:
Orlando, FL (Hybrid) Applicants must live in or be within commuting distance of the Greater Orlando area. About the Opportunity Our client is seeking a Property Accountant to join a well-established and growing real estate organization with a diverse multifamily portfolio. This role offers the opportunity to manage the complete accounting cycle for multiple properties while working closely with operations, property management, and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and support portfolio performance. Why You'll Love This Role Hybrid work environment offering flexibility Manage accounting for a portfolio of multifamily properties Competitive benefits package, retirement plan, paid holidays, and generous PTO Financially stable organization with long-term career opportunities Collaborative accounting team with regular interaction with leadership Opportunity to mentor junior team members and improve accounting processes Key Responsibilities Oversee the full-cycle accounting function for an assigned portfolio of multifamily properties Prepare monthly financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations Complete month-end close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis Monitor cash balances, forecast cash requirements, and manage property banking activity Calculate management fees, owner distributions, accruals, and accounting reclassifications Partner with on-site property management teams to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Analyze monthly financial results and provide meaningful insights to leadership Track lender escrows, replacement reserves, debt service, and other property-related obligations Assist with annual budgets, forecasting updates, audits, and special accounting projects Support acquisitions, property dispositions, and onboarding of newly acquired assets Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Minimum of three years of property accounting experience, with multifamily experience strongly preferred Experience managing the complete accounting cycle for multiple properties Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statement preparation, month-end close, and account reconciliations Experience with Yardi, MRI, RealPage, or similar property management/accounting software Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Experience with budgeting, cash forecasting, and financial reporting preferred CPA or active CPA candidate is a plus but not required Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship Benefits Hybrid work schedule Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company matching Generous paid time off and company holidays Professional development and advancement opportunities Collaborative and supportive team culture Why Apply?
