Plant Controller

Job Description

Job Overview The Plant Controller oversees financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, planning, inventory valuation, financial reporting and internal controls as well as general accounting functions. This position partners closely with plant leadership, operations and supply chain to strengthen internal controls and support operational decision making. Responsibilities Lead and support month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, spending reviews, and financial reporting. Analyze actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior-year performance and communicate key variances and business drivers. Partner with plant leadership to identify opportunities to improve profitability, productivity, cost management, and operational performance. Support the annual budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes. Oversee and analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, material usage, labor, overhead, and production variances. Monitor inventory levels, physical inventory processes, slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and standard cost updates. Support internal controls over spending, production, working capital, inventory, and fixed assets. Administer capital projects, including financial justification, approvals, tracking, and documentation. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance Strong understanding of GAAP, cost accounting, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling. Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills. Ability to analyze complex financial information and communicate conclusions clearly to both financial and non-financial audiences. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills. Ability to build effective relationships with plant operations and cross-functional teams. Experience Minimum 3-5 year's progressive accounting or finance experience in manufacturing environment Experience analyzing manufacturing costs, inventory, standard costs and production variances. Experience working in an ERP environment Participation in ERP implementation a plus
Pay:
$80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
