Location:
Muncie, IN Salary:
$75,000 - $85,000 per year About the Role We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented MDS Coordinator to join our team in the Muncie area. The MDS Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and completing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, ensuring accurate MDS assessments, care plans, and reimbursement optimization while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations. This position works closely with nursing, therapy, dietary, social services, and administration to ensure high-quality resident care and accurate clinical documentation. Responsibilities Coordinate and complete MDS assessments in accordance with CMS guidelines and required timeframes. Ensure accuracy of resident assessments, care plans, and supporting documentation. Review and optimize PDPM reimbursement opportunities through accurate assessment and coding. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members regarding resident assessments and care planning. Participate in care plan meetings with residents and families as needed. Review clinical documentation to support coding accuracy and reimbursement. Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and facility regulations. Provide education and guidance to nursing staff regarding documentation requirements. Assist with survey readiness and quality improvement initiatives. Qualifications Current Indiana RN or LPN license in good standing. Previous MDS experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred. Knowledge of the RAI process, PDPM, Medicare, Medicaid, and reimbursement guidelines. Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
