Responsibilities Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using proper manual handling techniques and equipment like Hoyer lifts. Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration rates accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems. Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring adherence to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality. Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care techniques and behavioral management strategies. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques for infection control. Document patient information clearly and thoroughly in medical records, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards like HIPAA. Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments such as ICU, emergency medicine units, or trauma centers to deliver safe patient transfers and optimal care. Experience Previous experience working as a CNA or in a healthcare setting such as long-term care facilities, hospitals, or assisted living communities. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation. Hands-on experience with patient transfer methods including safe lifting practices and the use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts. Knowledge of medical terminology related to geriatrics, pediatrics, acute care, or specialty areas such as ICU or trauma centers. Demonstrated ability to work with diverse patient populations including geriatric patients, individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized caregiving. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus.
