Job Description

Category Pharmacy - Staff Pharmacist Job Type Contract A healthcare facility in Williamston, NC is seeking a dedicated Pharmacist for a 13-week contract with the potential to transition into a permanent role based on performance. This position offers a dynamic environment where you will play a critical part in supporting long-term care patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00
PM Rotating Saturdays Key Responsibilities:
Accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal requirements. Monitor patient medication adherence and identify patterns of overuse. Ensure prescriptions are appropriate and maintain confidential patient records accurately. Provide patient counseling on medication usage, side effects, drug interactions, and proper handling of medical devices such as blood pressure monitors and glucose meters. Deliver additional patient services including smoking cessation, blood pressure measurement, and cholesterol management. Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols. Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks. Maintain adequate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. Identify drug-related problems and collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy interns to optimize patient care.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Active North Carolina pharmacist license (in-hand) Willingness to train retail pharmacists transitioning into this setting Experience or willingness to perform PV1 and PV2 duties Strong communication and leadership skills in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment This contract-to-hire opportunity allows you to demonstrate your skills and possibly secure a long-term position at a reputable long-term care provider.
