We are looking for an energetic, dependable, physically active, and highly engaged Physical Therapy Technician to join our team. This is a hands-on support position working directly alongside our pediatric physical therapists and the children and families we serve. Please watch our work before applying and only apply if you are within 30 mins of our clinic. Our clinic is very different from a traditional outpatient therapy setting, and this is a physical, active job . Before applying, we strongly encourage you to visit All Kids Are Perfect on Instagram and watch several of our therapy videos. Pay attention to the pace of our sessions, the amount of floor work involved, how physically active our therapists and techs are, and the energy we bring to working with our kids. We want applicants to understand what a day at AKAP actually looks like—and to be excited about being part of it. What does a PT Tech do at AKAP? Our PT Techs work alongside our physical therapists throughout the clinical day to help sessions run safely, efficiently, and smoothly. While our physical therapists are responsible for providing treatment, our techs are an important second set of hands and eyes. You may be helping position equipment, staying close to a child for safety, grabbing something a therapist needs, making a child laugh during a difficult activity, filming part of a session for a family, or resetting and sanitizing the room so it is ready for the next child. Being able to anticipate what is needed without constantly being asked is an important part of becoming an excellent PT Tech at AKAP. Responsibilities As a PT Tech, you will: Assist physical therapists throughout pediatric therapy sessions Help maintain a safe environment during physically challenging activities Stay attentive and ready to assist the therapist when needed Help position, move, set up, and put away therapy equipment Engage, entertain, encourage, and motivate children during sessions Help create a fun and positive environment even when children are working hard Film portions of therapy sessions when requested by the therapist for families, education, or approved clinic content Help ensure videos are captured appropriately while maintaining patient safety and privacy Clean and sanitize equipment and treatment spaces after sessions Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms, the gym, and other clinic spaces Assist with other clinic needs that help our therapists, children, and families have a great experience We care a great deal about finding the right person .
You should be:
Energetic, positive, and comfortable being active throughout the day Great with children Playful and able to engage a child who may be tired, frustrated, or working very hard Extremely attentive to safety Quick to react and comfortable in a fast-moving environment Dependable and consistently on time Comfortable taking direction and receiving feedback Able to anticipate what needs to be done and take initiative Willing to clean, organize, reset rooms, and help wherever needed Comfortable filming short portions of therapy sessions when asked A team player who understands that no task is "beneath" anyone when it contributes to taking care of our children and families Most importantly, we are looking for someone who understands that families are trusting us with their children . Many of our families travel long distances and make significant sacrifices to bring their child to AKAP. We take that responsibility seriously. We can have fun, laugh, play, and enjoy our work while still remembering that we are providing an important service to every family who walks through our doors. Please carefully consider the physical requirements before applying. This position requires the ability to: Get on and off the floor frequently throughout the workday Work in kneeling, half-kneeling, squatting, sitting, and standing positions Move quickly when needed Have the agility and reflexes necessary to assist with child safety Lift and carry children weighing up to approximately 50 pounds Move and set up therapy equipment Remain physically active for much of the clinical day This is not a sedentary position. We are specifically looking for someone who can commit to this position for at least two years. Consistency matters to our therapists, our team, and especially to the children and families we serve. Consider your school plans, career goals, transportation, and other commitments before applying. If you already know that you are likely to relocate, return to school full-time, or pursue another position within the next year, this is probably not the right opportunity. We are happy to invest our time and energy into training the right person, and in return, we are looking for someone who genuinely wants to become a dependable, long-term member of our team. About All Kids Are Perfect At AKAP, we believe all kids are perfect exactly as they are while giving them every opportunity to become stronger, more independent, and more confident. Our clinic is busy, physical, fun, and highly team-oriented. Some days require a lot of energy. Some children need extra encouragement. Sometimes everyone needs to jump in and help. That's part of what makes our team work. If you're looking for a job where you can sit on the sidelines and wait to be told what to do, this probably isn't the right fit. If you are someone who naturally jumps in, notices what needs to be done, loves working with kids, takes responsibility seriously, and wants to become an important part of a pediatric therapy team , we'd love to hear from you.
