Physician Assistant - Cardiology

Job Description

Our client in North Carolina is actively seeking a dedicated Cardiology Physician Assistant for a challenging 48-day locum tenens assignment, commencing Sep 1, 2026. This vital role involves comprehensive daily rounds on general cardiology service line patients, performing new consults, and managing admissions through discharge. Responsibilities include meticulous documentation, ordering necessary medications and tests, and executing critical ICU procedures like arterial and central line placements, along with cardioversions. Shifts are scheduled for 7a-7p, ensuring consistent patient care coverage. Responsibilities and Duties Round daily on all floor level of care patients admitted to or seen in consultation on the general cardiology service line. Write daily progress notes, event notes, admission H&Ps, new consult notes, and discharge summaries. Order medications, testing, and procedures as indicated. Perform procedures in the ICU when indicated, including arterial line placement, central line placement, and cardioversion. Perform new consults with the attending MD. Additional Information Board Certification in Cardiology required. Experience with Cerner EMR system.
