Category Schools - School Psychologist Job Type Contract Exciting opportunities are available for dedicated School Psychologists seeking a rewarding contract position in a supportive educational environment! A leading district near Laurel, MD, is actively hiring seven passionate professionals for the 2026-2027 school year. Both full-time and part-time roles are open, each offering a consistent 7-hour workday. These onsite positions cover a range of caseloads primarily in elementary and middle schools, with some high school assignments as well. In this setting, you will be part of a collaborative team renowned for delivering comprehensive psychological services. The district values proactive, student-centered practitioners eager to make a positive impact. Positions begin as soon as possible and continue through June 16, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Valid School Psychologist certification (or eligibility) in Maryland Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program Experience with K-12 populations, preferably in both elementary and secondary settings Strong knowledge of assessment procedures, multi-tiered systems of support, and behavioral interventions Effective communication and organizational abilities Commitment to equity, inclusion, and positive student outcomes
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver the full range of school psychology services, including evaluations, direct and consultative services, and participation in IEP/504 meetings Collaborate with educators, parents, and administrators to develop and implement intervention strategies Conduct assessments and observations to inform decisions that support student learning and well-being Provide crisis intervention as needed and support school-wide initiatives promoting mental health Maintain thorough and legally-compliant documentation This contract opportunity offers flexibility with both full- and part-time options, empowering you to balance your professional and personal life.
