Job Description

Shift:

Second Shift SSTAR is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) for our inpatient facility.. The ATS-Detox unit manages acute withdrawal and prepares patient to continue their recovery by alleviating acute physical and emotional dysfunctions that have resulted from their substance use. The program provides medically monitored detoxification and stabilization to individuals that are dependent on various substances.

$43.00

•$48.00 / hour

Shift Differentials:

$2.25

•$7.00 / hour Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Hourly Pay Range:

$33.00

•$38.00 / hour

Summary:

The Evening Admissions Nurse is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the Admissions process to ATS and CSS. The evening admissions nurse is responsible for the initial assessment and admission of patients onto the unit. This role requires care coordination with various departments to provide high quality care. The evening admissions nurse ensures all necessary documentation is completed accurately, and the patient is appropriate for the unit before completing the admission and reporting to the unit. The evening admissions nurse is also expected to float to all units during any lulls in the admissions process. All positions hired to inpatient services may be flexed between units based on census and need for coverage of safe care.

Specific Responsibilities:

Performs Admission Nurse tasks including, but not limited to physical assessment, obtaining substance use, medical, and psychiatric history, full medication reconciliation, obtaining orders from outside medical teams when required, assist with obtaining required medication, protocol initiation. Coordinates patient admissions with Front Desk Staff, ATS and CSS units. Assists with referrals for MAT/CSS. Performs liaison support for inpatient needs with Pharmacy. Problem solves issues that arise. Promotes an environment which contributes to the health, well-being and safety of staff and patients. Assist nurses on both units during downtime. Other duties as required.

Experience and Skills:
Requirments:

CPR certification is up to date. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention is to be completed within 3 months of hire and annually. Narcan training is to be completed within 3 months of hire.

EDUCATION

Graduate of an approved school of registered nursing, or a graduate from an accredited school of Licensed Practical Nursing.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Experience in a substance use disorder setting preferred.

LICENSING

Current Massachusetts RN License and/or current Massachusetts LPN license.

CERTIFICATION

(S): Certification in Addiction Nursing preferred (CARN).

KNOWLEDGE

Obtain CEUs per current Board of Nursing requirements. Evidence of good physical and mental health and professional conduct. Direct care positions require two years of continuous sobriety for individuals in recovery.
