Variable hrs. Join our perioperative team as a Registered Nurse providing high-quality care for patients undergoing same day surgery. This position offers variable hours per week and requires a motivated professional who can manage an environment with rapid patient turnover. Your role will encompass direct patient care before, during, and after procedures, with a strong focus on patient teaching, monitoring, and safe discharge practices.

What you will do:

Assess and prepare patients for procedures by conducting pre-op assessments, verifying consents, and ensuring appropriate pre-procedure instructions have been followed. Deliver intra-procedural nursing support in the procedure room, assisting the team and maintaining patient safety throughout the intervention. Monitor and evaluate vital signs, level of consciousness, pain, and overall physiologic status during recovery; intervene and escalate as needed. Provide comprehensive patient education tailored to the procedure and the individual's needs, ensuring patients and families understand post-op care, warning signs, and follow-up plans. Coordinate timely and safe discharges, ensuring documentation is complete and discharge criteria are met.

Required Credentials:

Active Nebraska RN license. Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications. Successful candidates are flexible, quick-thinking, and skilled at prioritizing in a setting with frequent turnover.
