Category Schools - SLP Job Type Contract A dynamic opportunity awaits for a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist seeking a full-time contract role supporting elementary students. This position requires a highly skilled clinician with expertise in pediatric speech-language pathology, particularly in a school-based environment. The role is based in the vicinity of Hayes, VA, serving a K-5 population of approximately 80 students.
Key Skills and Experience:
Hold a current SLP-CCC credential At least one year of experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred Proficiency with assessments, therapy planning, and documentation for elementary-aged students Familiarity with both onsite and teletherapy (VOCO) modalities Prior experience supervising SLPAs is a plus, or willingness to learn Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, families, and students
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech-language services to a diverse elementary caseload of about 80 students Conduct initial and ongoing assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and monitor student progress Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and families to support student goals and IEPs Complete required documentation, reports, and participate in relevant meetings Potentially supervise and mentor an SLPA as needed Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations as well as district policies Flexibility to potentially deliver services onsite or virtually, as assignment is finalized This contract is a fantastic chance to positively impact young learners' communication skills while working with a supportive team.
