Weekend Line Cook / Prep Cook / Expo / Dishwasher — Part-Time Belvidere Bagels Job Summary Belvidere Bagels is looking for a dependable, hard-working person to join our kitchen team on weekends only . This is a very part-time position, approximately 8-16 hours per week , primarily supporting our busy weekend service. This is a great opportunity for someone who already has another job, is in school, or is simply looking to pick up some extra weekend hours. The main focus of this position will be expediting and supporting the kitchen during busy service , but we need someone who is willing and able to jump into whatever needs to be done. That can include line cooking, prep, dishes, cleaning, stocking, organizing, and helping the rest of the kitchen stay on track. We are looking for someone who understands that in a small, busy kitchen, everyone helps everywhere . There may be opportunities for additional hours in the future as the business continues to grow, but applicants should currently expect approximately 8-16 hours per week . Responsibilities Expedite orders and help keep food moving accurately and efficiently during busy weekend service Communicate with line cooks and front-of-house staff to make sure orders are complete and correct Assist with breakfast and lunch line cooking as needed Work with a flat-top grill and other standard kitchen equipment Assist with food prep before and during service Follow established recipes, portions, and food-quality standards Keep workstations clean, stocked, and organized Wash dishes and help maintain the dish area when needed Assist with cleaning, trash, stocking, and general kitchen responsibilities Follow proper food-safety and food-handling procedures Work quickly without sacrificing quality or accuracy Stay organized and focused during high-volume periods Be willing to jump in wherever the team needs help What We're Looking For Previous restaurant, line cook, prep cook, expo, or similar kitchen experience is strongly preferred Must be available on weekends Understanding of expediting and how a kitchen operates during busy service is preferred Comfortable cooking and working around a flat-top grill Not afraid to wash dishes, clean, prep, or handle less glamorous kitchen tasks Dependable and punctual — showing up on time and ready to work is extremely important Reliable transportation Strong work ethic Able to follow directions and established systems Able to work independently while also being part of a team Good communication skills Able to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment Attention to detail and pride in the food being served ServSafe certification is preferred, or willingness to become certified if required Schedule Weekends only Approximately 8-16 hours per week . This position is intentionally very part-time right now. It is ideal for someone looking to pick up additional weekend income without committing to a full-time restaurant schedule.
