Job Description

Description The Assistant Housekeeping Manager works closely with the Executive Housekeeper to lead and coordinate Housekeeping and Public Space operations throughout the resort. This position plays a key role in maintaining exceptional standards of cleanliness, safety, efficiency, and guest satisfaction while supporting the development and success of the housekeeping team. The ideal candidate is an organized, hands-on leader who takes pride in delivering a consistently high-quality guest experience and fostering a positive, productive work environment.
Essential job functions include:
Supervise Housekeeping and Public Space operations to ensure the hotel is consistently clean, safe, well-maintained, and guest-ready. Ensure adherence to The Boar's Head Resort policies, procedures, and service standards. Oversee inventory, purchasing, disbursement, and cost control for linens, cleaning supplies, guest supplies, laundry supplies, uniforms, machinery, and equipment. Maintain appropriate staffing levels and payroll controls while establishing and monitoring productivity standards. Supervise rotational and special cleaning programs. Conduct daily inspections of guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with established standards; perform follow-up inspections as needed. Communicate and coordinate effectively with the Front Desk and Engineering departments to support a smooth and efficient resort operation. Ensure the department operates within the approved budget and established financial guidelines. Conduct department meetings to maintain positive working relationships, encourage teamwork, and promote employee morale, productivity, and efficiency. Follow up daily with the Engineering Department regarding maintenance issues and ensure timely completion of guest room and public space repairs. Complete all responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner while following established company policies and projecting a professional image of The Boar's Head Resort. Keep the Executive Housekeeper promptly and fully informed of significant problems, unusual circumstances, or operational concerns so appropriate corrective action can be taken. Perform supervisory functions necessary to effectively and efficiently manage assigned personnel. Maintain a qualified and effective staff by establishing clear expectations, managing working relationships, holding employees accountable, and evaluating performance. Recommend salary adjustments, promotions, and dismissals as appropriate. Ensure proper training and onboarding of assigned personnel. Foster a cooperative, respectful, and harmonious work environment that supports employee morale and productivity. Identify and develop employees for future advancement opportunities. Maintain staffing guides and accurately monitor and track open job requisitions. Contribute to the overall success of the resort by performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned. Requirements Previous supervisory or management experience in housekeeping, hospitality, hotel operations, or a related field. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience supervising, training, coaching, and evaluating employees. Knowledge of housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, and public-space operations. Ability to conduct inspections and maintain high cleanliness, safety, and quality standards. Experience with staffing, scheduling, payroll, inventory, and cost control preferred. Ability to work effectively with Front Desk, Engineering, and other resort departments. Strong attention to detail and commitment to guest satisfaction. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as business needs require.
