Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including counters, floors, and appliances, following sanitation protocols. Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers, ovens, and prep tools. Follow all workplace safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents or contamination. Collaborate with dietary staff to ensure proper handling of food and adherence to nutrition standards for geriatric patients. Requirements Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly preferred. Knowledge of food handling, sanitation practices, and kitchen safety procedures. Ability to lift heavy items safely using proper lifting techniques; manual handling skills are essential. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy meal times. Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment and adhering to dietary requirements for elderly or special needs populations. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with residents and staff. Basic math skills for portioning ingredients and managing supplies accurately. Certifications such as CPR or food safety training are advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is expected.
