Amber's Pampered Pets, LLC has connected Michiana families with trusted pet care professionals since 2002. We are currently accepting applications from dependable, compassionate individuals interested in providing pet sitting, dog walking, overnight care, and other pet care services through APP. We are especially interested in applicants whose self-selected availability includes overnights, evenings, weekends, and at least some holiday opportunities.

Where we most need help Pets do not take evenings, weekends, or holidays off—and those are some of the times our clients need us most. Our current priorities include providers interested in accepting: Overnight stays in clients' homes Evening visits Weekend opportunities At least occasional holiday opportunities Independent contractors are never required to accept a particular opportunity, holiday, or schedule. However, we are currently prioritizing applicants whose stated availability helps meet these high-demand needs. Even limited holiday availability can be incredibly valuable. A provider might choose to accept a block of morning, afternoon, or evening opportunities rather than remaining available for an entire holiday. Providers who opt into holiday opportunities receive increased per-service compensation. To be candid, if you are interested only in occasional daytime, fair-weather visits, this may not be the best match for our current needs. We are looking for providers who genuinely enjoy pet care and are interested in helping during at least some of the times when dependable care is needed most. Overnight pet care providers are especially needed We have a particularly strong need for experienced, dependable providers interested in accepting overnight stays in clients' homes. Overnight care generally involves staying in a client's home with their pets, following established evening and morning routines, providing companionship, and helping pets remain comfortable while their people are away. Yes, there may be cozy couch time and adorable furry roommates. There may also be early wake-up calls, medication schedules, muddy paws, and a dog who believes your side of the bed is also their side of the bed. You do not have to offer overnight care to apply. However, if you are available for overnights—even occasionally or only on certain days—please clearly describe that availability in your application. Who may be a good fit? We are especially interested in applicants with hands-on animal care experience beyond caring for their own pets.

Relevant experience may come from:

Veterinary clinics Animal shelters or rescue organizations Grooming, boarding, or dog daycare facilities Farms, barns, or livestock care Professional pet sitting or dog walking Training or other animal care environments Professional pet care is incredibly rewarding, but it isn't all puppy kisses and cat naps. It may also involve litter boxes, pet messes, detailed instructions, nervous animals, changing weather, and occasionally investigating what on earth the dog just ate. The active side of pet care If you enjoy being outside and getting your steps in, dog-walking opportunities through APP may make your step counter very happy. Dog walking is an active, outdoor service—not always a leisurely stroll around the block. Depending on the opportunities they choose to accept, providers may need to: Walk outdoors for extended periods, sometimes during multiple visits in one day Work in rain, cold, snow, wind, and summer heat, except when conditions become unsafe Navigate stairs, hills, uneven ground, wet surfaces, and snowy or icy conditions Safely handle dogs with different sizes, strength levels, walking habits, and energy levels Bend, squat, kneel, carry supplies, and occasionally assist a pet with mobility needs Applicants should be able to safely and reliably perform the physical requirements of the specific services they choose to offer, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pet care opportunities may involve:

Providing overnight care in clients' homes Caring for dogs and cats of different sizes, ages, temperaments, and needs Walking dogs on varied terrain and in changing weather conditions Using common leashes, harnesses, collars, and other client-provided equipment Cleaning litter boxes and handling routine pet messes Caring for fearful, reactive, senior, young, or medically complex pets Following detailed client instructions while using sound professional judgment Communicating warmly and professionally with clients and other APP providers Using mobile applications for scheduling, communication, and visit documentation Experience with overnight care, barn animals, livestock, rescue animals, multi-pet households, or medication administration is especially valuable. Independent contractor flexibility This is an independent contractor opportunity, not an employee position.

Independent contractors choose:

When they would like to be available The geographic areas they are willing to serve The types of services they wish to offer Whether each individual opportunity fits their experience, availability, compensation expectations, and comfort level Contractors may accept or decline individual opportunities at their discretion. There is no requirement to remain available throughout the day, work a minimum number of days, accept holiday or overnight care, or accept any particular opportunity. Because client needs vary, APP does not guarantee a minimum number of opportunities, visits, hours, or weekly income. Pet care opportunities may occur throughout the day. The earliest visits generally begin around 7:00 a.m., while the latest may fall between 9:00 and 10:00 p.m. Weekend, holiday, evening, and overnight opportunities may also be available.

Transportation and technology Applicants need:

Reliable transportation appropriate for the services and areas they choose to accept A smartphone Dependable internet access Contractors who choose to accept pet transportation opportunities must have a valid driver's license, legally required automobile insurance, and a safe, roadworthy vehicle. Screening and professional standards Because services may take place inside private homes and involve the care of much-loved animals, applicants must successfully complete APP's application and screening process. This may include a background check and animal care knowledge or handling assessments. Pet care providers are expected to communicate professionally, protect confidential client information, exercise appropriate judgment, and provide humane, dependable care for every opportunity they choose to accept. Compensation Compensation is offered on a per-service basis and is communicated before an opportunity is accepted. Rates vary depending on the type and length of service, specialty care involved, location, holiday demand, and other assignment-specific considerations. Contractors decide whether the compensation offered for an opportunity works for them and may accept or decline it at their discretion. Holiday opportunities include increased per-service compensation. Client tips designated for providers and applicable mileage fees are passed through 100% to the provider. Additional discretionary compensation may occasionally be offered. Because client needs and individual contractor availability vary, no specific weekly earnings are guaranteed. Why contract with APP?
