Job Description DogJoy is looking for an exceptional Lodge Technician (Kennel Technician) to join our TEAM!

This is a long-term career opportunity — not a seasonal job. DogJoy invests heavily in every new team member. Our Level 1 training program takes approximately 90 days , and we are looking for applicants who are available year-round and interested in growing with us long-term. This position is not a good fit for someone looking for temporary, seasonal, or summer-only employment, or for someone planning to leave for college or relocate within the next few months. Our full-time Lodge Tech schedule varies based on the needs of the dogs and the team. Shifts are generally 6:45 AM-12:45 PM and/or 2:00 PM-7:30 PM. Some days you may work one shift, while other days you may work both. Team members must be available to work these shifts, including weekends and holidays on a rotating schedule. Who We're Looking For We are looking for dependable individuals who are ready to contribute to an exceptional team. Previous professional experience working with dogs is strongly preferred. Experience in a kennel, boarding facility, training facility, veterinary clinic, shelter, or similar professional environment will be taken into consideration. More important than experience, however, is character.
The ideal candidate:

Communicates professionally and maintains healthy working relationships with coworkers. Solves problems, works independently, and contributes as part of a team. Enjoys learning and continuously improving. Adapts well as procedures evolve to better serve our clients and their dogs. Is passionate about improving dogs' lives through enrichment, training, and positive reinforcement. Is dependable, accountable, and takes pride in doing every task well—even the less glamorous ones. What You'll Do Your primary responsibilities include: Supervising dogs in off-leash playgroups. Reading canine body language. Maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitized facility. Feeding and medicating dogs according to detailed instructions. Assisting with grooming services such as baths and nail trims. Working closely with your teammates to provide an exceptional experience for every dog and owner. This is an active, outdoor position. The dogs need care regardless of the weather, so our team works outside year-round in the Texas heat, rain, cold, and occasional ice. Team members spend much of the day walking our 10-acre property, staying on their feet, bending, squatting, lifting up to 50 lbs. , and keeping up with an active workload. Taking care of dogs also means scooping poop, cleaning up accidents, disinfecting kennels and play yards, and maintaining a spotless facility. Those responsibilities are an important part of providing excellent care. Requirements Previous professional dog handling experience is strongly preferred. Must be available 32-40 hours per week . Must be available to work mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays on a rotating schedule. Must have reliable transportation. Must be at least 18 years old. Must be dependable, punctual, and communicate professionally. Must be able to stand for extended periods, bend, squat, lift up to 50 lbs. , and perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Compensation $15.00-$20.00 per hour , based on experience, work ethic, reliability, and enthusiasm.
