Responsibilities Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, ensuring safety for both animals and staff. Conduct laboratory work including blood draws (phlebotomy), sample processing, and diagnostic radiology procedures such as X-ray imaging. Administer medications, monitor anesthesia during surgeries or critical care cases, and manage IV insertions and vascular access with precision. Support animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning, grooming, and maintaining proper animal physiology records. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions and treatment plans to enhance client satisfaction. Qualifications Prior kennel experience combined with veterinary technician experience or related animal handling roles. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and emergency medicine protocols. Hands-on experience with dental terminology, veterinary anesthesia monitoring, and critical & intensive care procedures. Proficiency in laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic radiology (X-ray), and laboratory diagnostics. Strong dog handling skills along with animal catheterization, IV insertion, and veterinary surgical assistance experience. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management. Ability to perform general anesthesia procedures safely while maintaining high standards of aseptic technique.
Pay:
$25.14 - $30.28 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 - 20.0 per week
