Description We are looking for a dedicated Paralegal to join a respected elder law practice in Melbourne, Florida on a Contract to permanent basis. This permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys supporting attorneys through estate planning matters while providing attentive service to clients, including older adults and their families. The role combines document preparation, case coordination, court-related filings, and day-to-day scheduling support in a detail-focused legal environment.
Responsibilities:
Oversee estate planning files from intake through completion, keeping case records organized and current within the case management system.
Coordinate client meetings, document signings, consultations, and follow-up appointments to keep matters moving efficiently.
Prepare draft estate planning documents for attorney review, ensuring information is accurate and formatted appropriately.
Maintain attorney calendars, arrange priorities, and manage scheduling needs across active matters.
Communicate with attorneys regarding prospective and active clients to gather direction and confirm next steps.
Handle scanning, electronic filing, and related court submissions while tracking deadlines and key dates for each case.
Respond to client questions with care and assist with appointment logistics and general case communication. Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies.
Florida Registered Paralegal status or comparable certification.
Prior experience supporting estate planning matters; probate or estate administration experience is a plus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and attorney interaction.
Excellent organizational ability with careful attention to deadlines and document accuracy.
Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate approach when working with older clients.
Notary Public credentials preferred or required for the role.
Proficiency with case management software, calendaring tools, document drafting, and e-filing processes.
