Job Summary:

A&H is seeking a Service Manager that will act as the bridge between the customer and the service technicians. This role will be responsible to ensure the shop runs efficiently and profitably by managing staff, overseeing the repair workflow, handling customer service, and maintaining strict quality standards. The hours of operations for this role are 7:30 AM-4:30 PM. This is an onsite role.

Core Responsibilities:

1. Design and implement efficient repair methodologies and optimal job workflows to enhance service delivery, operational effectiveness, and customer satisfaction. 2. Develop, monitor, and maintain comprehensive service efficiency metrics, performance standards, and management reporting methods to track progress. 3. Train qualified team members to support departmental needs. 4. Plan and execute ongoing educational programs covering company policies, technical methods, and safety procedures to foster continuous learning. 5. Lead and direct professional technical service teams, hosting regular service meetings to communicate corporate goals and encourage active employee participation. 6. Observe service personnel in real-time repair environments to provide targeted coaching on diagnostics, safety protocols, cleanliness, and high-quality craftsmanship. 7. Supervise direct reports, providing personalized guidance and mentorship to help team members achieve both their professional and corporate milestones. 8. Continually monitor individual and departmental progress against established quality standards and profit targets to ensure organizational alignment. 9. Identify operational deviations from strategic plans, proactively recommending and executing corrective actions to help the team meet its goals.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Associate degree or technician certification in heavy equipment technology, diesel mechanics, industrial equipment technologies, or transportation technology is highly preferred. Significant industry tenure in lieu of education. 5+ years' hands-on experience as a heavy construction equipment technician, diesel mechanic, or field service technician. 3+ years in a supervisory role, such as a Shop Foreman, Lead Mechanic, or Assistant Service Manager, overseeing a team of technicians. Proven experience utilizing fleet management software, telematics, and Dealer Management Systems (DMS) for tracking service intervals, building quotes, and processing work orders. Practical knowledge of OSHA standards, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations for commercial motor vehicles, and general shop safety management. Working Environment and Physical Conditions Travel up to 25% to sites beyond the corporate office, customer sites, vendors, other A&H locations. Indomitable work ethic and the willingness to work additional hours as needed. Sit and stand for long periods of time. Perform light work - exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. See, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity. Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
