Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
The Youth Skills Training program provides students ages 16-17 the opportunity to learn, develop and apply the skills and knowledge required to assemble or disassemble packaging automation machines. These individuals will work in one of several build centers under the direction of an Assembly Production Supervisor.

Learn necessary Douglas standards and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards in relation to assembly of packaging machinery. Learn to read and decipher assembly drawings and utilize 3d drawing software. Learn proper and safe use of power/ hand tools, shop equipment, and testing or measuring devices. Learn to determine if components match design specifications. Learn to update and maintain machine documentation. Learn to identify and locate missing components. Learn the proper procedure for creating corrective action reports (CAR) for fabricated parts and ordering of new parts. Maintain an orderly and clean work environment; toolbox, carts, shop equipment and build center. Comply with all safety policies and procedures. Comply with other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Must be a student ages 16-17 enrolled in the Youth Skills Program (YST) No prior experience required
