Job Description

Pay:
$22.00 - $30.00 per hour Job description: Nexus Employment Solutions Plus, Inc. is looking to hire directly for a Die Cutter Operator position in Bolingbrook, IL . The Die Cutter Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining die cutting equipment used to convert printed or unprinted sheets into finished cartons, inserts, and other packaging components. This position ensures products are produced according to customer specifications, quality standards, production schedules, and safety requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Set up and operate die cutting machines according to job tickets, production specifications, and standard operating procedures. Install and align dies, cutting plates, make-ready materials, and related tooling. Adjust machine settings including speed, pressure, guides, registration, stripping units, and other controls to ensure proper cutting, scoring, perforating, and stripping. Perform job changeovers efficiently while minimizing downtime and waste. Read and interpret production schedules, job orders, and specification sheets. Perform machine make-ready and setup according to job requirements. Conduct and document quality checks to ensure production meets specifications and make adjustments as needed. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical press issues and tooling defects. Operate hand trucks or forklifts to move completed loads into staging areas. Support process improvements and production efficiency initiatives. Coordinate with other operators and departments to maintain smooth workflow. Perform routine preventative maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and basic machine adjustments. Work cooperatively with operators, helpers, and supervisors to meet production goals. Assist with training new employees and team members on die cutting operations as needed. Participate in shift handoffs, production meetings, and continuous improvement activities. Follow all safety, quality, and food safety procedures.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 3 years of experience operating industrial die cutting equipment in a printing, packaging, or converting environment preferred. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8- to 12-hour shift. Ability to frequently reach, bend, stoop, and handle materials. Ability to lift, push, or pull materials and products up to approximately 50 pounds. Must be able to read, speak, and understand English.
Schedule:
Full-time position supporting a 24/6 production schedule. Overtime and weekends required based on production needs.
