Role Description The Clinical Rater for CNS trials is a full-time, on-site role based in Greenville, NC. This position is responsible for administering and scoring standardized clinical rating scales and assessments for clinical research studies such as Depression, Anxiety, Alzheimer's disease, etc., following protocol requirements and regulatory guidelines. The Clinical Rater will conduct structured interviews with trial participants, document findings accurately, and ensure assessments are completed consistently across visits. The role includes collaborating with investigators and study coordinators, participating in rater training and calibration sessions, and promptly reporting any safety concerns or adverse events. The Clinical Rater will also support data quality by reviewing source documents, maintaining organized records, contributing to continuous improvement of site processes, contributing to patient enrollment efforts, and other responsibilities and tasks related to the clinical trial execution at the research site. This role will report to the Principal Investigator on the study who is a licensed Psychiatrist onsite multiple days per week as well as the site director who is onsite full time. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to administer and score clinical rating scales and structured interviews for CNS trials with consistency and attention to detail. Strong clinical judgment, observational skills, and ability to assess patient symptoms and functional status in alignment with study protocols. Knowledge of clinical research processes, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and regulatory requirements, or willingness to learn through training. Clear written and verbal communication skills for documenting assessments, interacting with participants, and collaborating with study teams. Ability to work on-site full time in Greenville, NC, manage multiple assessments, and maintain accuracy under time constraints. Master's degree or Ph.D. in psychology, neuroscience, nursing, social work, or a related field; advanced degree or clinical licensure is a plus. Or Doctoral or master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related clinical field. Prior experience in CNS clinical trials, psychiatric or neurological assessment, or research at an investigational site is highly beneficial. Comfort working with diverse patient populations, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding ethical standards in all aspects of participant care. Examples of scales used MADRS, HAM-D, PANSS, YMRS, CGI-S/CGI-I, C-SSRS, ASRS, PHQ9, ESRS, SAS, BARS, ADAS-Cog, MINI, SCID-5.
