Category Schools - Counselor Job Type Contract Make an impact as a dedicated Counselor supporting students in a school setting near Newport, NH. This contract position is ideal for a qualified Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor seeking a focused opportunity during the 2026-2027 academic year. The role allows for meaningful, individualized attention—serving a small cohort of students in need of support, with flexible scheduling that fits well alongside other commitments.
Key Candidate Highlights:
Active New Hampshire Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) license required Demonstrated experience delivering services to students with selective mutism Background in school settings and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams Strong communication and documentation skills Compassionate, student-centered approach to counseling
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide approximately 6 hours of direct counseling services each week to three enrolled students requiring specialized support Attend to necessary administrative documentation and meetings associated with each student's progress and needs Coordinate with educational staff and families to create supportive, individualized plans Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional and ethical standards Contribute positively to the school environment by fostering inclusion and empowerment
