Residential DOT Driver Class A

Job Description

The Residential DOT Driver - Class A is responsible for safely and efficiently operating company collection vehicles while servicing residential customers. The driver will follow assigned routes, collect and transport waste and recyclable materials, operate vehicle and collection equipment, and ensure assigned routes are completed safely and efficiently. The driver is responsible for conducting required vehicle inspections, complying with DOT regulations and company safety procedures, maintaining required documentation, and providing professional and courteous service to customers. This position requires dependable attendance, safe driving practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while managing an assigned route. Key Responsibilities Safely operate a Class A commercial vehicle on assigned residential routes. Collect and transport waste, recyclables, and other approved materials. Follow assigned routes, schedules, and customer instructions. Safely operate collection equipment and other vehicle equipment as required. Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Properly secure and transport loads. Complete required driving logs, paperwork, and electronic documentation. Communicate with dispatch, supervisors, and customers regarding route and service needs. Report vehicle, equipment, container, or safety issues to management. Maintain a clean and safe vehicle and work area. Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures. Provide professional and courteous customer service. Work safely around residential streets, pedestrians, traffic, and other vehicles.

Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Strong safety awareness and attention to detail. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to climb in and out of the vehicle and perform physical tasks as required. Willingness to follow company policies, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
