Join Move Forward as a Board Member About Move Forward Move Forward is a nonprofit organization providing housing stability and mental health services to youth and families in the West Metro community. Our programs include school- and community-based mental health care, housing case management, outreach and drop-in services for youth experiencing homelessness, and homelessness prevention and housing stability services for families. Our mission is to break down systemic barriers to housing and mental health care, building safety and stability for youth and families in the West Metro community. Board Member Opportunity Move Forward is seeking engaged and thoughtful individuals to join our Board of Directors. Board members play an important role in advancing our mission, providing strong governance and strategic leadership, supporting the organization's long-term sustainability, and championing Move Forward in the community. We are looking for people who are committed to our mission and interested in contributing their experience, perspective, connections, and skills to help Move Forward continue to grow and respond to the needs of youth and families. Key Responsibilities Serve as an ambassador for Move Forward and champion our mission in the community. Attend and actively participate in bi-monthly Board meetings. Serve on at least one Board committee. Provide strategic leadership and governance to support the organization's mission and long-term sustainability. Support fundraising and community engagement through donor cultivation, relationship building, events, and other activities. Work collaboratively with fellow Board members and organizational leadership. Stay informed about Move Forward's programs, finances, opportunities, and challenges. Skills, Experience & Perspectives Sought We welcome candidates with a variety of professional and personal experiences. We are particularly interested in individuals who bring experience or knowledge in one or more of the following areas: Nonprofit leadership, management, or governance Financial management, accounting, or nonprofit finance Fundraising, development, or philanthropy Marketing, communications, or community engagement Human resources, employment law, or governance Business and community connections Housing, homelessness, mental health, or youth services Lived experience connected to the communities and issues central to Move Forward's mission We value a Board that brings different perspectives, backgrounds, professional experiences, and connections to the communities we serve. Prior Board experience is not required. Board Member Expectations Board members are expected to: Commit to a three-year term. Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, committee work, and organizational events. Help build relationships and connections that advance Move Forward's mission. Come prepared to ask questions, contribute their perspective, and participate in Board decisions. Act in the best interests of Move Forward and the youth and families we serve. Why Join Move Forward?
