Job Overview As a Business Broker / M&A Advisor, you will build your own book of business by developing referral partnerships and advising business owners through the full sell-side process, from initial conversations and valuation guidance through marketing, buyer management, diligence, and closing. This is a 1099 independent contractor role, commission-only , designed for established professionals (not new grads) who are ready to invest in a multi-year career path.

Texas Expectation:
in-office presence during training and ongoing collaboration Client coverage: primarily Texas , with regional travel across the Southeast as needed Compensation 1099 commission-only (no salary/draw) First-year earnings : typically $100K+ for advisors who build consistent pipeline activity 3-5 year earnings : often $200K-$300K+ , depending on personal production and book strength No benefits (independent contractor role) What You'll Do Build and manage a pipeline of business owners considering a sale Prospect and develop referral relationships (CPAs, attorneys, wealth managers, bankers, industry operators, etc.) Lead discovery meetings and guide owners through readiness and expectations Perform initial valuation guidance (not certified valuations; our team supports deeper valuation work) Manage the sell-side process end-to-end: positioning, buyer conversations, LOIs, diligence coordination, and closing Maintain strong process discipline: CRM updates, follow-up cadence, and confidentiality protocols What We're Looking For Proven ability to prospect and build relationships (self-sourced pipeline is the expectation) Comfort with a consultative sales process and long sales cycles Financial fluency: ability to read and discuss P&Ls, tax returns, and cash flow Coachable, persistent, and committed to building a 5-year career , not a quick transaction Strong communication and project management skills (you will quarterback multiple stakeholders) Ideal Backgrounds (Not Required) Commercial banking, lending, wealth management, financial advisory, CPA B2B sales with complex, high-trust decision-making Industry operators who can leverage domain expertise (HVAC, plumbing, construction, distribution, niche manufacturing, etc.)
Training & Support:
We provide a structured 24-month training program designed to develop senior M&A advisors.
