Job Description
The Branch Operations Strategy & Innovation team is responsible for shaping the future of Navy Federal's branch network and the experiences delivered through it. We partner across the enterprise to develop long-term strategies, drive innovation, support organizational transformation, and ensure our branches continue to evolve alongside member expectations and organizational growth. Our work spans strategic planning, branch network optimization, member experience, operational excellence, change management, and portfolio governance. As part of Branch Operations, the Strategy & Innovation team serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, helping translate emerging trends, operational insights, and member needs into actionable strategies. We develop strategic frameworks, facilitate planning sessions, evaluate new opportunities, and guide initiatives that strengthen the branch experience for both members and employees. The Summer Associate Intern will report to the Manager of Strategy & Innovation and work closely with a team of strategists, change leaders, and portfolio managers located across multiple Navy Federal campuses. This role is ideal for a Master's-level student, preferably pursuing an MBA or related degree, who enjoys solving complex business problems, conducting research, and developing data-driven recommendations that balance operational realities with long-term strategic objectives. Projects may focus on branch transformation, member experience, competitive benchmarking, operational innovation, organizational effectiveness, and emerging trends impacting retail financial services. The Summer Associate Program is a 12-week internship program beginning in May 2027 and ending in August 2027. Students will work on impactful projects and meaningful work during their internship. To qualify for this position, applicants must be currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university and have an anticipated graduation date of December 2027 or later. Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration (MBA), Strategy, Finance, Economics, Management, Organizational Leadership, or a related field. Experience analyzing data, conducting research, and developing recommendations to solve business problems. Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams. Experience developing executive presentations and communicating findings to senior stakeholders. Knowledge of strategic planning frameworks, business case development, market analysis, and competitive intelligence methodologies. F amiliarity with financial services, credit unions, banking, branch operations, or member experience strategy.
