This role is responsible for ensuring materials are available when needed, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, coordinating with domestic and international suppliers, and supporting production schedules. The position works closely with procurement, production, logistics, and distributors to maintain reliable material flow and on-time delivery. Key Responsibilities Manage purchasing activities for raw materials, components, and production supplies. Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer demand, forecasts, and material availability. Monitor inventory levels and optimize stock to prevent shortages and excess inventory. Use ERP/MRP systems to manage purchase orders, inventory records, and production requirements. Coordinate material availability, lead times, and delivery schedules with suppliers and production teams. Work with suppliers in the U.S. and China to support timely purchasing and delivery. Coordinate shipping requirements, including air freight and container shipments. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules for downtime, maintenance, or changing demand. Work with distributors and internal teams to resolve material and scheduling issues. Analyze purchasing and production data using Microsoft Excel and SQL . Identify opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency, inventory control, and on-time delivery. Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, inventory, and scheduling records. Required Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, or material planning. Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems , such as SAP or Oracle. Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and SQL . Experience with purchasing and production scheduling in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of supplier lead times, payments, shipping, and material requirements. Experience working with distributors and domestic/international suppliers. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to independently manage purchasing and scheduling responsibilities.
