Buyer Position Summary:
Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division is in need of a buyer for their supply chain team. This position would directly support the supply chain team in day-to-day activities to ensure work progresses on schedule and with high quality. Fairbanks Morse Defense, Components Division offers a unique working environment that allows a hands-on individual to develop and grow as the company expands its footprint and maintains high performance as a trusted organization in the defense industry.Essential Job Functions:
Issuing RFQs and purchase orders timely to support production Managing supplier due dates and expediting crucial orders Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers Work with planning and operations to support manufacturing schedules Assist with payables and invoicing questions/issues Strong problem-solving skills Strong communication skills Willingness to travel up to 10%Skills Desired:
Minimum of 3 years in manufacturing/supply chain environment required Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related business from an accredited institution Excellent analytical and financial skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Works well in a fast-paced environment with minimal day-to-day supervision Working experience in an ERP system, preferably Infor Visual Highly skilled in Excel, Word, Power-Point Be able to comprehend blueprints and drawings Negotiate terms and pricing with suppliersNote:
