The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for developing and managing supplier relationships to ensure on time delivery of products that meet expectations for quality, delivery and cost. Responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating costs, and ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of necessary items while adhering to company policies and regulations. Creating, tracking, and managing orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Effective time management is crucial due to the fast-paced nature of the role, which often involves tight deadlines and multiple priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following: Functions as a purchaser and works closely with the assigned engineering and logistics liaison. Investigates and recommends potential suppliers based on assessments of response to specifications, costs, and historical performance. Supports the evaluation of alternative suppliers. Responsibility for monitoring and reporting on delivery schedules of suppliers. Meet deadlines and deliverables, work multiple projects simultaneously and rapidly communicate recommendations, and develop courses of action Works with vendors to receive quotes and presents to leadership for decision Assist in resolution of supplier issues. In some cases, managing inventory levels and ensuring adequate stock of essential items. May support the inventory control and receiving team, as needed, using automated processes focused on improving supply chain management and providing inventory tracking and audit trails. May support requirements for kitting. Perform other related duties as directed by supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; must specifically have experience using Excel at an intermediate level. Minimum 5 years' relevant experience working in a corporate/commercial environment. Technically proficient in reading and comprehending engineering drawings, with the ability to analyze bills of material. Ability to analyze technical data, designs, preliminary specifications, manufacturing limitations, supplier facilities, and parts/equipment availability. Excellent self-initiative and self-motivation with the ability to work under minimal supervision. Ability to work effectively in small and large team settings to solve complex problems. Understands the importance of strategic thinking, negotiation, and adaptability, all of which are enhanced by efficient time management. Works closely with suppliers to identify and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and project/program leads to continuously drive improvement in the supply base. Exceptional organizational and communication skills.

Organizational Skills:

Ability to organize and manage large amounts is crucial.

Communication Skills:

Ability to communicate effectively with other departments, including engineering, production and configuration management. Ability to identify cost reduction opportunities. Proficiency with personal computers and networking.
