Job Description

We are a globally recognized manufacturer of diesel generators, hybrid, and drive systems for mobile marine, vehicle, and military applications. We are seeking experienced, highly motivated, and organized Purchasing Specialists to join our team and manage parts procurement. Position Overview As a Purchasing Specialist, you'll play a critical role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing critical components while ensuring cost efficiency, quality, and timely delivery to support operations. This is a position ideal for someone who understands both the supply chain and parts procurement cycle in the marine industry. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical knowledge of diesel engines, and the ability to manage parts procurement. Key Responsibilities Procurement /
Purchasing:
Source and procure diesel marine engine parts, components and related equipment from vendors, OEMs, and aftermarket suppliers Negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms with suppliers Process purchase orders and track shipments to ensure timely delivery Track inventory and maintain optimal stock levels Research new vendors and assess supplier performance Resolve shipment and pricing errors with suppliers on a timely basis Develop lead times for standard raw materials and supplies required for production. Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation Stay current on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and product availability Collaborate with accounting to ensure proper invoicing and cost tracking
Requirements:
Minimum 3-5 years of procurement/purchasing experience in diesel marine, heavy equipment, or related industry Strong knowledge of diesel engines, marine parts, and components Proven negotiation and vendor management skills Experience with inventory management and procurement systems Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members. Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office (Excel required); ERP experience preferred Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Self-motivated, punctual, and reliable with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. Preferred Qualifications Technical background or mechanical understanding of diesel systems Existing vendor relationships in the marine industry Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
