Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer to join our purchasing team. Responsible for the planning and processing of ingredient and packaging component purchases for Chicago production facility. Also responsible for maintaining the integrity of the electronic business record keeping systems as related to the procurement function from strategic planning to data entry. Duties Thorough working knowledge of purchasing policies, processes and procedures. Substantial knowledge of warehouse and inventory control policies and procedures. Extensive knowledge of material work planning and methods food manufacturing processes and procedures. Extensive knowledge and ability to negotiate best vendor terms, pricing and delivery based on specific budget and schedule requirements.

Assists others in implementing their ideas and makes recommendations for further improvements. Data entry of purchase orders of Ingredients & Salmon Packaging material. Calling, faxing or mailing to vendors of new purchase orders and revisions Managing report of Direct materials file for Salmon department. Utilize system reports to update MRP with Excel and pivot table. All Ingredients, & salmon packaging material planning for Salmon and Herring department, follow up with suppliers and various departments. Working with sales team about new project development. EXPERIENCE

B.A. or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Must have good phone and people skills. Previous experience with electronic business software required. Prior experience with Great Plaines a plus. Pay:

$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
