PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

Temporary with potential for permanent hire
Pay Rate:
$31.25 per hour Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support new product introductions and manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for managing supplier relationships, coordinating procurement activities, and ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and possess strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Key Responsibilities Manage procurement activities to support new product introductions (NPI) and ongoing production schedules. Monitor strategic launch plans for newly awarded programs to ensure successful implementation. Lead Supplier Readiness Reviews (SRRs) and ensure project milestones are completed on time.
Collaborate with Program Managers to:
Identify and qualify suppliers. Communicate engineering drawing revisions. Manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs). Issue and track PPAP purchase orders. Partner with Sales and Estimating to review supplier pricing, tooling costs, material specifications, and minimum order quantities (MOQs). Work closely with Commodity Managers to utilize preferred suppliers and support strategic sourcing initiatives. Coordinate with Supplier Development Engineers to ensure suppliers meet quality, technical, and performance requirements. Establish and maintain accurate supplier information within the ERP system. Present supplier readiness updates to Procurement Specialists and Materials Managers prior to production launch. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement and supply chain performance. Perform additional procurement and supply chain duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of:
