Job Description
About the Opportunity We're seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing and supply chain operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role plays a critical part in ensuring material availability by managing purchase orders, communicating with suppliers, and coordinating with internal departments to support production needs. Key Responsibilities Create, issue, and maintain purchase orders with approved suppliers. Confirm supplier receipt of purchase orders and obtain acknowledgments. Track open purchase orders and follow up on delivery dates, past-due items, and order status. Update purchasing information, including dates, quantities, pricing, and delivery details within the ERP system. Expedite materials to support production schedules and inventory requirements. Communicate delivery risks, supplier updates, and material availability to internal stakeholders. Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies related to purchase orders, pricing, receipts, and quantities. Coordinate with receiving, accounts payable, planning, production, and suppliers to resolve transactional issues. Maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier communications. Support shortage reviews, open-order reporting, and purchasing follow-up activities. Escalate supplier performance concerns, supply constraints, or pricing issues to purchasing leadership when appropriate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred (Business, Supply Chain, or related field preferred). Candidates with relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered for the contract opportunity. Degree completion required for consideration of future direct-hire conversion opportunities. Minimum 2 years of experience in one or more of the following: Purchasing Procurement Supply Chain Materials Management Administrative Buying Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including: Pivot Tables VLOOKUPs Data analysis and reporting Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Comfortable working in both office and manufacturing environments. Ability to multitask and manage changing priorities effectively. Preferred Materials purchasing experience. Reporting and analytics experience, especially Power BI. Inventory management or cycle count experience. Experience supporting manufacturing operations. Knowledge of supply chain and procurement best practices. Work Environment Office setting located within a manufacturing facility. Approximately 10-20% of the time spent on the production floor. Steel-toed shoes required while in manufacturing areas. Clean, climate-controlled office environment with cubicle-style workspace. Collaborative team environment working closely with engineering, quality, production, planning, and supplier partners. Why Join?
