Job Summary We are seeking a Buyer is who will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day purchasing needs of the organization by efficiently creating and managing Purchase Orders, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring materials, equipment, parts, and services are purchased at the best overall value. This position supports internal departments by providing timely purchasing assistance while maintaining accurate documentation, appropriate purchasing controls, and effective supplier relationships.
Duties:
Create and process Purchase Orders accurately and efficiently based on approved purchasing requests. Review purchasing requests for completeness, accuracy, appropriate approvals, specifications, quantities, and delivery requirements. Work with internal departments to understand purchasing requirements and provide timely support. Obtain vendor pricing, availability, lead times, delivery information, and other applicable purchasing information. Identify appropriate suppliers and coordinate purchases based on price, quality, availability, service, and overall value. Request and evaluate competitive quotations when appropriate. Maintain effective working relationships with vendors and suppliers. Monitor Purchase Orders and follow up with vendors regarding order status, pricing, availability, and delivery. Communicate purchasing and delivery updates to internal departments as needed. Investigate and assist in resolving pricing, delivery, quality, invoice, and Purchase Order discrepancies. Maintain accurate purchasing records and supporting documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures. Ensure purchasing activities are completed in accordance with established Procurement policies, procedures, and approval requirements. Support the development and use of preferred suppliers. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, and improved purchasing practices. Assist with sourcing equipment, parts, materials, services, and other organizational requirements. Develop knowledge of key suppliers, products, pricing, and market conditions relevant to the organization's operations. Collaborate with Accounting, Operations, Fleet, Maintenance, and other departments to ensure purchasing activities are completed accurately and timely. Assist with Procurement projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. 2-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, supply chain, operations, or a related field preferred. Experience working with Purchase Orders and vendors preferred. Experience within equipment, parts, materials, construction, fleet, industrial, manufacturing, or a similar environment preferred.
Pay:
$70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
