Job Description
We are seeking a detail oriented Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing operations, financial transactions, and administrative processes within a stable and mission driven public organization. This position is ideal for someone with experience processing purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, and vendor related transactions who enjoys working in a collaborative office environment and takes pride in accuracy and customer service. Purchasing Coordinator Westbury, New York Long-term multi-year Contract $25 to $31 per hour plus benefits Monday through Friday 35 hours per week Onsite Key Responsibilities Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders from initiation through completion Review documentation for accuracy and ensure compliance with internal procedures Support invoice processing, billing activities, and vendor related transactions Maintain purchasing records and financial documentation within organizational systems Coordinate travel, conference, and related administrative requests Communicate with internal departments regarding purchasing requests, order status, and documentation requirements Assist with reporting, recordkeeping, correspondence, and general office administration Research and resolve purchasing and invoice discrepancies Provide administrative support to multiple departments as needed Qualifications One to three years of experience processing purchase orders, requisitions, invoices, or similar financial transactions Experience working within purchasing, procurement, accounting, finance, or administrative support functions Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Comfortable working within financial systems and databases Preferred Qualifications Experience with PeopleSoft or similar enterprise financial systems Experience supporting purchasing, procurement, accounts payable, or billing operations Familiarity with educational technology, learning systems, or student information platforms What Makes This Opportunity Attractive Stable long-term contract position with potential to go perm Competitive hourly compensation Benefits package including paid time off Consistent daytime schedule with no evenings or weekends Opportunity to broaden purchasing, financial operations, and administrative experience Collaborative team environment with exposure to multiple business functions
