We're looking for a Senior Purchasing Agent to join our Procurement team to be based at our Norwood, NJ location. In this role, you'll develop and execute procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and ensure a seamless flow of materials to support our manufacturing operations. You'll play a key role in cost control, inventory management, and cross-functional collaboration — keeping our supply chain running efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. What You'll Do Issue and manage purchase orders in line with the MRP system, tracking delivery performance and resolving supply issues. Forecast demand, review inventory requirements, and align procurement with production schedules to maintain uninterrupted material flow. Monitor inventory needs and maintain accurate databases of inventory, pricing, and project costs. Conduct regular inventory analyses to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and coordinate with production and planning teams to optimize stock levels. Source and negotiate with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and pricing. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships — confirm orders, resolve discrepancies, and evaluate supplier performance. Generate reports to support decision-making and identify areas for improvement. Maintain organized records of purchase orders, invoices, and supplier contracts. Collaborate cross-functionally with QC, production, regulatory, logistics, and finance teams. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in purchasing or supply chain roles within a manufacturing environment. Experience in the Flavor & Fragrances industry is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with planning and inventory management software (NetSuite, ProCis, or similar ERP systems). Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams). Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements This is an on-site position at our Norwood facility — remote work is not available for this role. The work environment is near manufacturing with strong odors present; comfort working near labs with strong odors present is essential. Primarily desk-based with extended periods of computer use.
