Role Overview

Our client is seeking a Senior Procurement Specialist to support operational purchasing for a leading energy organization. This role will source and purchase materials, equipment, spare parts, consumables, and services while managing supplier relationships, purchase orders, delivery timelines, costs, and procurement compliance.

Responsibilities

Source and procure MRO materials, critical spare parts, consumables, chemicals, equipment, repair services, and operational requirements.

Review purchase requisitions and technical requirements for completeness and accuracy.

Coordinate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and production teams to confirm specifications and alternatives.

Manage the full purchase order lifecycle, including quotations, commercial evaluations, negotiations, issuance, expediting, receipt, invoice resolution, and closeout.

Monitor supplier commitments and critical delivery dates and proactively address delays and risks.

Develop qualified local and regional suppliers and preferred purchasing channels.

Maintain pricing and purchasing data and identify cost savings, standardization, and supplier consolidation opportunities.

Review warranty coverage and coordinate warranty claims, repairs, replacements, credits, and escalations.

Monitor supplier quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and warranty support.

Prepare and analyze procurement metrics related to purchase order cycle time, supplier delivery, emergency purchases, savings, cost avoidance, and warranty recovery.

Identify procurement risks and opportunities to improve purchasing processes and supplier performance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.

5+ years of purchasing, procurement, materials management, or supply chain experience in energy, power generation, manufacturing, oil and gas, or a similar industrial environment.

Experience procuring MRO materials, spare parts, industrial equipment, consumables, repair services, and field services.

Experience managing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, expediting, supplier performance, and invoice or receiving discrepancies.

Proficiency with ERP or procurement systems such as SAP or Oracle.

Strong Excel, KPI reporting, analytical, negotiation, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage urgent procurement requirements while maintaining appropriate purchasing controls.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting geothermal, power generation, renewable energy, process plants, or other asset-intensive operations.

Familiarity with inventory management, warehouse, maintenance management, and material master data processes.

Experience coordinating equipment warranty claims, supplier corrective actions, repairs, replacements, and credits.

Familiarity with industrial part specifications, cross-references, obsolescence risks, market benchmarking, Incoterms, and freight coordination.
