Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a Purchasing Coordinator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Kent, WA. This role is ideal for an organized, detail-oriented professional with experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory, materials, logistics, order management, or vendor coordination. The Purchasing Coordinator will support day-to-day purchasing operations by processing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, tracking deliveries, maintaining accurate records, and helping resolve order or invoice discrepancies. This position offers the chance to join a collaborative environment where purchasing works closely with operations, warehouse, inventory, production, accounting, and other internal teams to keep materials and supplies moving efficiently. The right candidate will be dependable, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced business setting. Key Responsibilities
  • Create, process, update, and maintain purchase orders with a high level of accuracy.
  • Review purchase requests, pricing, quantities, product details, delivery dates, and vendor information.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding order status, availability, pricing, lead times, shipment updates, and delivery schedules.
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up to ensure materials, products, and supplies arrive on time.
  • Research products, materials, vendors, quotes, and pricing to support purchasing decisions.
  • Identify and help resolve order, receiving, shipment, pricing, vendor, and invoice discrepancies. Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay range: $65,000 to $80,000 per year.

    Kent, WA. Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Process and maintain purchase orders, purchasing records, vendor documentation, and order tracking systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to support accurate, timely purchasing activity.
  • Research purchasing issues, compare quotes, and help resolve discrepancies from order request through delivery.
  • Support inventory availability by monitoring purchasing needs and communicating with warehouse, operations, production, accounting, and other departments.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing, procurement, buying, inventory, supply chain, materials, order management, logistics, or a related administrative role.
  • Experience working with purchase orders, vendor records, purchasing documentation, and order tracking.
  • Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using an ERP, purchasing, inventory, or accounting system is preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build professional vendor and internal relationships.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple orders, deadlines, and priorities.
  • Ability to identify discrepancies, research issues, and follow through to resolution.
  • Dependable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, food and beverage, retail, construction, distribution, logistics, engineering, or another environment involving purchasing, inventory, materials, vendors, or supply chain operations.
  • Prior experience obtaining and comparing vendor quotes.
  • Experience supporting Accounts Payable with invoice and purchase order issue resolution.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, materials coordination, shipment tracking, or warehouse purchasing support.
