Its mission is working together to strengthen surrounding communities by significantly improving the lives of neighbors in need. Founded in 1981, the Foundation awards approximately $4 million annually to nonprofit agencies serving Palm Beach and southern Martin Counties with a distinctive focus on capital needs and multi-year initiatives addressing health, hunger, homelessness and education. The Executive Director Job Summary The Executive Director serves as the chief executive and primary ambassador of the Foundation. In partnership with Foundation leadership and key stakeholders, the Executive Director advances its mission, strengthens community impact, and provides hands-on leadership across grantmaking, donor engagement, operations, finance, staff and risk management. The Foundation creates a new strategic plan every five years to provide a clear direction. The job also involves oversight of the Riviera Beach Health Initiative and Literacy Programs. Ideal Candidate Description The ideal candidate is a trusted, discrete and capable executive with exceptional ability to provide leadership to a community-based organization powered by more than 150 resident volunteers. The candidate should be adept at working with highly accomplished residents, while inspiring their engagement, trust, and commitment to the Foundation's mission. The job is not just to maintain, but to lead the Foundation into areas and initiatives that fill significant community needs. The candidate requires exceptional emotional intelligence, diplomacy and sound judgement in navigating sensitive relationships and confidential matters.
