Chief Executive Officer About the Company Blazing Cards is building a next-generation trading card and collectibles company centered around livestream commerce, entertainment, and an exceptional customer experience. Our business combines trading cards, livestream shopping, collectibles, community, and entertainment. As we scale, we are looking for a highly capable and entrepreneurial Chief Operating Officer to build and manage the operational infrastructure required to grow the company. The Role The COO will be responsible for turning the company's strategy into a scalable, efficient operating system. Working directly with ownership, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the business and take ownership of the systems, people, processes, and financial discipline required to scale.Your goal is simple:
Make the company operate exceptionally well as it grows. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with a willingness to get into the details. You should be equally comfortable reviewing company KPIs, fixing an inventory process, interviewing a new employee, evaluating livestream performance, or designing a better fulfillment workflow. Core Responsibilities1. Company Operations & Execution Own the company's day-to-day operating performance.Responsibilities include:
Translate the CEO's strategy and company goals into actionable operating plans. Establish weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operating priorities. Build processes that allow the company to scale without sacrificing customer experience or profitability. Create clear accountability across departments. Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions. Develop SOPs for critical business functions. Establish company-wide operating rhythms, meetings, reporting, and performance reviews. Ensure projects are completed on time and owners are held accountable for results. Continuously improve efficiency throughout the organization. The COO should ultimately become the person the CEO can rely on to ensure that important initiatives actually get executed. 2. Livestream Operations Own the operational infrastructure behind the company's livestream business.Responsibilities include:
Develop repeatable processes for planning and executing livestream shows. Coordinate hosts, inventory, production staff, moderators, fulfillment teams, and customer service. Establish pre-show, live-show, and post-show operating procedures. Create scheduling systems for livestream hosts and production teams. Track livestream performance, including: Revenue per stream Revenue per hour Gross profit per stream Average order value Conversion rate Customer acquisition Repeat customer behavior Host performance Product performance Identify which products, formats, hosts, promotions, and show concepts produce the strongest results. Improve livestream efficiency, entertainment quality, and profitability. Ensure inventory sold during livestreams is accurately tracked and fulfilled. Develop contingency procedures for technical failures, inventory issues, payment problems, and customer disputes. 3. Inventory Management & Trading Card Operations Inventory control is one of the most important responsibilities of this position. The COO will oversee systems for: Receiving Cataloging Storage Allocation Livestream inventory E-commerce inventory Mystery products Order fulfillment Returns Damaged products High-value collectibles Responsibilities include: Maintain accurate real-time inventory records. Establish chain-of-custody procedures for high-value cards and sealed products. Implement regular inventory reconciliation and audits. Establish controls designed to prevent theft, loss, misallocation, or inventory discrepancies. Track inventory turnover and aging. Identify slow-moving inventory. Develop strategies to efficiently monetize aging inventory. Establish inventory purchasing and replenishment models. Work with leadership to determine appropriate inventory levels. Track inventory profitability by product/category. Ensure the company has sufficient inventory for upcoming livestreams and promotions. 4. Fulfillment & Logistics Build a fulfillment operation capable of supporting significant transaction volume.Responsibilities include:
Monitor fulfillment KPIs. Plan staffing and warehouse capacity as order volume increases.Key metrics may include:
Orders shipped per day Average fulfillment time Cost per shipment Order accuracy Lost/damaged shipment rate Return rate Customer complaints related to fulfillment 5. Financial & Unit-Economic Discipline Work closely with the CEO and finance/accounting resources to ensure the company grows profitably.Responsibilities include:
Develop operating budgets and forecasts. Track gross margins across products and sales channels. Understand the complete economics of each livestream. Track shipping, labor, platform fees, payment-processing fees, discounts, refunds, chargebacks, and other variable expenses. Analyze contribution margin by product, stream, host, and sales channel. Establish spending controls and approval processes. Evaluate vendor contracts and negotiate improved terms. Provide the CEO with accurate operational and financial reporting. The COO should understand not simply whether the company is growing, but whether that growth is profitable and sustainable. 6. Team Building & People Management Build a high-performance operating team.Responsibilities include:
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and manage operational employees. Help establish organizational structure as the company grows. Define roles, responsibilities, and reporting relationships. Establish employee onboarding and training systems. Develop measurable performance expectations for employees. Conduct regular performance reviews. Identify high performers and future managers. Address underperformance quickly and professionally. Develop staffing models based on sales and livestream volume. Build a culture of accountability, urgency, integrity, and customer obsession. Potential teams reporting into the COO may include: Livestream Operations Warehouse Inventory Operations Management Quality Control Fraud/Risk Operations 7. Customer Experience Ensure customers receive an outstanding experience from purchase through delivery.Responsibilities include:
Establish customer-service standards. Monitor customer complaints and recurring issues. Implement processes for refunds, returns, missing products, damaged shipments, and disputes. Track customer satisfaction and retention. Reduce customer-service response times. Create escalation procedures for high-value or sensitive customer issues. Identify systemic problems based on customer feedback. Work with other departments to eliminate the underlying causes of complaints. The objective is not simply to resolve customer problems—it is to identify why those problems happen and prevent them from recurring. 8. Fraud, Risk & Loss Prevention Because the company handles valuable and highly liquid collectibles, the COO will be responsible for developing strong operational controls.Responsibilities include:
Establish controls around high-value inventory. Implement employee inventory-access policies. Create inventory audit procedures. Establish payment and order fraud procedures. Monitor chargebacks and suspicious purchasing activity. Develop processes for documenting high-value shipments. Maintain appropriate separation of duties for sensitive operational functions. Establish incident-reporting and investigation procedures. Work with leadership and outside professionals on insurance, risk management, and compliance matters 9. Technology & Operational Systems Work with internal and external technology teams to automate and improve company operations.Responsibilities include:
Evaluate and implement inventory-management systems. Improve integration between livestream sales, e-commerce, inventory, fulfillment, and accounting. Reduce manual processes and human error. Develop operational dashboards. Identify opportunities for automation. Work with engineers to translate operational requirements into technology solutions. Ensure company systems can support substantially higher transaction volume. The COO does not need to be an engineer, but should be highly comfortable working with technology and data. 10. KPI Reporting & Data Build a data-driven operating culture. The COO should establish a company operating dashboard that gives leadership visibility into the health of the business.Metrics may include:

Scaling the Business Prepare the company's operations for substantial growth.The COO should continually ask:
"What breaks if the company becomes 5x larger?" And then build the infrastructure before it breaks.Responsibilities include:
Capacity planning Warehouse planning Staffing forecasts Technology requirements Inventory requirements Process automation Management structure Vendor capacity Fulfillment capacity Customer-service capacity What We're Looking For The ideal candidate has: Significant experience operating or scaling a high-growth business. Strong leadership and people-management experience. Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability. Experience building operational systems and processes. Strong financial and business judgment. Experience managing budgets and understanding unit economics. Experience with inventory-heavy, e-commerce, retail, marketplace, livestream-commerce, collectibles, logistics, or similar businesses. Excellent organizational and project-management skills. Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment. High personal accountability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. The ability to make decisions with incomplete information and adjust quickly as new information becomes available. Experience in trading cards or collectibles is highly desirable but not necessarily required if the candidate has exceptional operating experience in a relevant industry. What Success Looks Like Within the first 12 months, a successful COO should have: Built a reliable company-wide operating system. Established clear KPIs and executive dashboards. Significantly improved inventory accuracy. Created scalable livestream operating procedures. Improved fulfillment speed and accuracy. Established strong financial and purchasing controls. Reduced operational mistakes and customer complaints. Built and developed a high-performing operations team. Created processes capable of supporting significantly higher sales volume. Reduced the amount of day-to-day operational intervention required from the CEO. Most importantly, the CEO should be able to focus increasingly on vision, strategy, partnerships, capital allocation, product, and growth while trusting the COO to run the company's operating engine.
