Vice President of Clinical Operations About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced healthcare operations executive to join a growing, multi-site physician practice organization. This role offers the opportunity to lead clinical operations across multiple locations, build high-performing teams, drive operational excellence, and partner closely with executive leadership to support organizational growth and exceptional patient care. Position Summary We are seeking a dynamic, hands-on Vice President of Clinical Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple ambulatory healthcare locations. This executive leader will be responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring consistent clinical support, developing high-performing leaders, and maintaining appropriate staffing levels to support exceptional patient care. The Vice President of Clinical Operations will serve as the primary operational leader for all clinical teams, allowing executive leadership to focus on strategic growth initiatives rather than day-to-day clinical operations. This individual must be an experienced healthcare operations executive with strong infusion services knowledge, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to independently identify issues, implement solutions, and drive accountability throughout the organization. Key Responsibilities Clinical Operations Leadership Provide executive oversight of clinical operations across multiple practice locations. Ensure consistent, high-quality clinical workflows, patient experience, and operational efficiency. Standardize clinical processes and best practices across all sites. Monitor operational metrics and develop action plans to improve performance. Serve as the operational leader for all clinical departments and physician practices. Infusion Services Oversight Lead operations for outpatient infusion services, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of care. Partner with providers to optimize infusion scheduling, staffing, and patient throughput. Ensure regulatory compliance related to infusion services and nursing operations. Identify opportunities to expand infusion capacity and improve operational performance. Leadership & People Management Directly oversee Clinical Supervisors and other clinical leads. Coach, mentor, and develop leadership talent throughout the organization. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, and employee engagement. Be a visible, approachable leader who is present and accessible to employees across all locations. Address employee concerns proactively while partnering closely with Human Resources. Staffing & Workforce Planning Ensure each location maintains appropriate clinical staffing levels based on patient volume and operational needs. Anticipate staffing shortages and proactively develop recruitment and coverage strategies. Partner with Human Resources on recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and retention initiatives. Develop succession plans for key clinical leadership positions. Ensure schedules provide adequate coverage while maintaining productivity goals. Operational Excellence Identify operational challenges before they become business risks. Lead initiatives that improve efficiency, patient satisfaction, employee engagement, and financial performance. Utilize data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive informed decision-making. Develop and monitor operational dashboards and performance metrics. Lead change management initiatives across multiple practice locations. Collaboration Partner with physicians, executive leadership, Human Resources, Finance, Revenue Cycle, and other departments to achieve organizational goals. Participate in strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives. Support acquisitions, new office openings, and operational integration efforts. Represent Clinical Operations during executive leadership meetings. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related healthcare field; master's degree (MSN, MHA, MBA, or related field) and/or Registered Nurse (RN) licensure preferred. Minimum of 10 years of progressive healthcare operations leadership experience, including at least 5 years overseeing multi-site clinical operations. Demonstrated experience leading outpatient infusion services within an ambulatory or physician practice setting. Proven success managing and developing multidisciplinary clinical teams and leaders. Strong knowledge of ambulatory healthcare operations, clinical workflows, regulatory compliance, and quality standards. Experience with workforce planning, staffing models, budgeting, operational performance metrics, and productivity management. Demonstrated ability to independently identify operational challenges, implement effective solutions, and drive organizational accountability. Experience partnering with physicians, executive leadership, and Human Resources to support recruitment, retention, employee relations, and organizational growth. Strong analytical, strategic planning, project management, communication, and conflict resolution skills. Experience leading organizational change, process improvement initiatives, and operational standardization across multiple locations. Ability to travel regularly between practice locations.
Pay:
$175,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
