•This is a Regional position for our communities in California. The selected candidate will need to travel to the communities in Northern and Southern California on a regular basis
Regional Vice President of Operations Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer, this position is responsible for ensuring that the programs and services delivered are consistent with Northstar Senior Living and that the highest quality of customer service is provided for our communities, supporting their ongoing efforts to maintain and increase occupancy. Degree in healthcare, gerontology, business, or a related field 5 years of Operations and Supervisory/Management experience in Senior Living Management Ability to read and interpret financial statements and manage a budget Experience in Senior Living Sales and Marketing with proven success Excellent communication skills and a compassion for older adults Primary Responsibilities for
Regional Vice President of Operations:
Ensure the highest quality of customer service is available for our residents. Ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the communities in assigned region. Develop and increase the profitability and efficiency of each community and company-wide. Communicate the corporate mission, vision, values, and goals to all staff each community. Foster a sense of enthusiasm, self-worth and team spirit among the communities. Liase with each of the community Executive Directors to ensure coordination of activities and pursuit of common goals. Provide suggestions for improvement and communicate alternate methods of operating among the Executive Directors. Monitor the performance of each Executive Director in relation to the goals of the property; foster their professional development. Assist in planning new initiatives and future direction for the company. Initiate, develop, implement and monitor new changes within assigned region. Regularly inspect each community, make suggestions for improvements. Follow up on implementation of suggestions and mandates. Develop operating policies and procedures, where they not covered by a community policy/procedure or where a corporate policy/procedure is required. Share new policies with corporate to ensure perpetuity companywide. Ensure coordination and consistency of quality service throughout the region. Monitor effectiveness and cost efficiency of operating policies and procedures. Review monthly variance reports and financial statements with Executive Directors and address any budget variances. Monitor labor costs and hours and address concerns and action plans with Executive Directors. Monitor and respond to summary reports of operational and financial statistics, including monthly reporting package. Directly supervise, review, and evaluate the performance of the Executive Directors. Review and authorize all GM bonuses, CapEx amounts, and large accounts payable checks prior to release. Monitor community accounting and internal controls and practices. Ensure the VP of Operations is informed of major issues and make suggestions and presentations for change and improvements. Review budgets and ensure they are in good order from field and acceptable prior to submission. Work with Executive Directors and Physical Plant to develop CapEx plan for each assigned community and obtain approval for related expenditures. Ensure the Employee satisfaction survey is completed and communicated at each assigned community. Ensure action plans are created and followed. Travel to various locations and attendance at identified corporate meetings is required. Attend approved conferences/seminars and identify senior living industry trends. Prepare reports for investors, owners, and Executive Committee as requested.
