About Crane Center for Transgender Surgery The Crane Center is a world-renowned Transgender surgical practice, with locations in Greenbrae, California, Boulder, Colorado, and Austin, Texas. We have eight highly specialized surgeons and a multidisciplinary clinical team which allows us to offer all aspects of gender-affirming surgery. Full-Time / Executive Role Summary The Chief Operating Officer (COO) oversees Crane Center's business development, business operations, administrative services and procedures. The COO will be officed in Austin Texas, however he/she will be responsible for operations and the aforementioned activities at all three of Crane Center locations. As a key member of the executive team, the COO translates the Crane Center's strategic vision into actionable operational plans that drive growth, expense management and control, quality assurance, patient safety, patient satisfaction, patient communications, office based clinical services, regulatory compliance and medical records , while ensuring sustainable financial performance.
Key Responsibilities Metrics and Target Setting:
Partner with the CEO and, as appropriate, other members of the leadership team to develop, monitor and then communicate to the attending staff and clinical and support staff, long term, metrics related to growth, productivity, quality, patient satisfaction and financial performance.
Alignment:
Partner with the CEO and, as appropriate, other members of the leadership team to support the attending physicians in achieving their individual metrics as they relate to growth, productivity, quality and patient satisfaction.
Cross-Functional Leadership:
Manage and mentor department heads and support staff across core areas including Human Resources, IT, and Marketing to ensure alignment with regards to annual targets and objectives.
Operational Oversight:
Manage daily business operations, optimize internal workflows, and establish policies that promote Crane Center's operating performance and culture.
Performance & Metrics:
Monitor performance using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), delivering timely growth, operational performance, quality reports to the CEO.
Talent & Scaling:
Partner with the CEO and other members of the leadership team to manage effective recruiting, professional development, and retention strategies to build a stable and high-performing workforce.
Qualifications & Skills Experience:
10+ years of progressive executive leadership experience, with at least 5 years in a senior operational role (e.g. Practice Manager, VP of Operations or COO).
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Other Clinical Sub Spectialty or Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field; Master of Business Administration or Health Administration (MBA or MHA) preferred.

Strategic planning, financial and operational reporting process optimization, and high-stakes problem-solving capabilities.

Outstanding communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, and the ability to cultivate rising talent.
